veckaflyestmainAlright, so I’ve been buzzing around various blogs and magazine sites, and they have all mentioned the newest mash up by The Soundmen which includes Grizzly Bear and Lil Wayne.

I must say, its pretty awesome.

Of course, what’s more amazing to me is how these DJs do it. I listen to music pretty much all day long, mashing them up is completely mind numbing. Honestly, the only mash ups I do are in my head and its more like an assortment. Anyway, check this out.

Paste Magazine
’s Michael Saba says it makes “Prom Queen” listenable.

Music blogger Chris from Gorilla Vs. Bear says that the mash up might in fact be superior to Weezy’s original version of the song, which will be on Rebirth, due out in August.

Well, I happen to like “Prom Queen”, but mixing it with Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks” adds a spice that wasn’t there before.

This is part of an EP from The Soundmen, cleverly titled VeckaFlyest, which includes “Fine for Pop”, “Hate the Cheerleader” and “Two Weeks ’till Prom”.

Saba insinuates to having another Girl Talk on our hands, and I’m going to have to agree.
